2008

Launch of Greencenter® concept and Stock Market Listing

With its Greencenter® concept, launched in 2008, FREY paved the way for eco-friendly retail parks. These living spaces, designed according to rigorous standards, minimize energy consumption and optimize waste management. Greencenter® embodies FREY’s concrete commitment to environmental transition and a new vision of retail. That same year, FREY was listed on Euronext Paris, marking a key milestone in its development and reinforcing its ambitions for sustainable growth.

2013

The revival of city entrances

As early as 2009, FREY had demonstrated its ability to reinvent urban spaces by being selected for the Aire des Moissons urban development zone in Troyes. This 30-hectare project, inaugurated in 2013, illustrates the Group’s visionary approach: innovative, environmentally-friendly public and retail facilities, that have revitalised a struggling area.

2014

A new challenge: France’s largest urban and retail renewal project

In 2014, FREY won the development competition launched by the Strasbourg Eurometropole for the requalification of its North Commercial Zone. Covering 150 hectares in 4 different municipalities, this initiative is considered to be the largest urban and commercial renewal operation ever launched in France. HQE Aménagement® certified, this project demonstrates FREY’s expertise in environmental matters.

2017

A new generation of open-air shopping centres

In 2017, FREY opened Shopping Promenade® Cœur Picardie in Amiens, its first open-air shopping centre. This innovative concept offers a friendly, immersive experience, where shopping meets relaxation in an attractive, environmentally friendly setting. Nearly 40,000 m² and 40 retailers await you!

2018

Establishment in Spain

In 2018, FREY reached a key milestone in its international development with its first acquisition in Spain: Parc Vallès in Barcelona. This 47,000 m² open-air shopping centre, home to numerous local and international retailers, represents a strategic investment for FREY, which aims to develop its value and appeal.

2019

A strengthened presence in the Iberian Peninsula

In 2019, FREY strengthened its presence on the Iberian Peninsula with the acquisition of Algarve Shopping in Portugal. Benefiting from a privileged geographical location at the heart of a catchment area of almost 280,000 inhabitants, this shopping centre of almost 60,000 m² offers strong development potential.

2020

An accelerated CSR strategy

In 2020, FREY gave new impetus to its CSR approach by launching FoREY®, its forestry group. With the acquisition of its first 104-hectare forest in France’s Côte d’Or region, FREY is delivering on its commitment to the sustainable management of French forests, in line with its corporate mission.

2021

B Corp certification

In 2021, FREY became the first listed French real estate company to obtain B Corp certification. This distinction, awarded by B Lab, testifies to the Group’s commitment to integrating ambitious environmental and social objectives into its business model. This is a significant recognition, given that only 5% of candidate companies obtain this certification.

2022

A new presence in Poland

In 2022, FREY reached a new milestone in its European expansion by acquiring the Matarnia Park Handlowy retail park in Gdańsk, Poland. This investment demonstrates the Group’s ambition to become a key player in sustainable retail on a European scale.

Continued growth for the Group

In 2023, FREY acquired the Polygone Riviera, an open-air shopping centre covering more than 77,000 m² in Cagnes-sur-Mer, France. The investment in this major French complex is a strong marker of the Group’s growth strategy.

2024

Development in the outlet market

In 2024, FREY took a new step in its diversification by acquiring ROS (Retail Outlet Shopping), one of the top outlet operators in Europe. This strategic investment gives the Group access to a new class of high-performance assets and strengthens its geographical presence.

Expansion, Impact, and International Momentum

In 2025, FREY continued to accelerate its growth and reaffirm its commitments. The Group completed the acquisition of Designer Outlet Berlin, its first outlet asset, strengthening its positioning in the value retail sector. It also officially launched construction work on the Malmö Designer Village in Sweden, a flagship project symbolizing FREY’s international ambitions. That same year, FREY was once again awarded the prestigious B Corp certification, achieving a remarkable score of 116.1 points, reaffirming its commitment to building a more sustainable and inclusive retail model.
